Japan is a paradise of vintage shopping, especially when it comes to Japanese designers. I remember eyeing this skirt in runway and street style photographs, putting it on my mental wishlist of things I probably won't be able to buy anyway. To my surprise, a few years later I found it in a small vintage shop on the third floor of an old building in the city where I was staying.
The skirt's construction is simply fascinating, and I have had a number of fashion design students come up to me and ask if they can have a closer look to see how it is constructed. Needless to say, it still is one of the items I would save in a house fire before my own life.

One of the great things about this skirt is that it can be styled in so many different ways. It looks great with heels and a button up shirt, but this time I wanted to make it look a bit more casual, so I wore it with an oversized men's denim jacket and a pair of Jordans.
